A Way Out

A Way Out is an action-adventure video game played from a third-person perspective. The game is designed for multiplayer with split-screen support, meaning it requires playing with another person either locally or online. Throughout the game, you control Leo and Vincent, two convicted prisoners who must escape from prison and evade the authorities. Since both main characters' stories are told simultaneously, their progress cannot be synchronized, which can result in one player controlling their character while the other watches a cutscene. Players must cooperate to advance, and each situation can be approached differently, with both characters taking on different roles. For example, during a prison escape scene, one player might need to distract a guard while the other finds a tool to aid in the escape. These roles are not fixed, so Leo and Vincent can switch roles in another playthrough. Players can interact with many non-player characters, and there are dialogue options available for the players.
