Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an action/RPG game with a first-person perspective and an open world, developed by the Czech studio Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in 2018. The game emphasizes historical accuracy, meticulously recreating the clothing, weaponry, architecture, and social structure of medieval Bohemia. The story unfolds in the Kingdom of Bohemia in 1403, against the backdrop of the conflict between King Wenceslaus IV and his brother Sigismund. At the beginning of the game, Cuman mercenaries hired by Sigismund ravage the mining settlement of Silver Skalitz. The protagonist, Henry, the son of a blacksmith, loses his parents in the raid and enters the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla, who leads the resistance against Sigismund. In his quest for vengeance, Henry becomes entangled in a conspiracy to restore the rightful king, Wenceslaus IV, to the throne. As an open-world game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance allows players to freely explore the accessible areas of medieval Bohemia, discovering interesting locations and quests on their own. Kingdom Come: Deliverance received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the game's medieval atmosphere and the developers' exceptional attention to detail. However, the game was criticized for numerous technical issues, particularly in the console versions. The American press also sharply criticized the game for alleged racism by the developers. In 2025, a sequel titled Kingdom Come: Deliverance II was released.
