Terraria

Terraria is a computer game in the adventure sandbox genre, developed by the American studio Re-Logic. It was released in 2011 for Microsoft Windows computers, distributed through the Steam digital distribution system. Before starting the game, the player must create a character and customize their appearance using various settings. Then, the player must specify parameters for the procedural generation of the world: its size, seed, game mode, and world evil ("Corruption" or "Crimson"). A world of the size specified by the player is then generated, containing various biomes and objects such as dungeons, enemies, traps, treasure chests, underground jungles, and floating islands. The character appears in the procedurally generated game world. The world itself has patterns, for example, the ocean is located at the edges of the world, the jungle biome is always opposite the snow biome, and so on. The character starts with three copper tools: a pickaxe, a short sword, and an axe. The character's inventory is divided into special groups of slots for each type of item: armor, accessories, ammunition, and others. Initially, the health and mana points are limited (100 health points and 20 mana)—these values can be increased if the player finds hidden "Crystal Hearts" and crafts "Mana Crystals" in the world. Underground, there are valuable resources that are rarer on the surface, and various structures that differ from each other in enemies and resources. Items can be found in chests or obtained after killing creatures. An axe or hammeraxe is needed to chop down trees, and a pickaxe or drill is needed to mine valuable resources and stone. Some resources are renewable: for example, chopping down trees yields acorns, which can be used to grow a new forest in the same place.
